Skin Booster in Jongno & Myeongdong Skin boosters in Seoul, explained.
A skin booster is a series of fine injections that place hydrating or skin-supporting ingredients — most often hyaluronic acid — directly into the dermis. It suits dry, dull or tired skin that needs glow and suppleness rather than volume. At Obliv Seoul Origin in Jongno, central Seoul, a physician chooses the booster after Mark-Vu imaging.

Skin Booster, in brief.
The essentials, answered plainly. Your physician confirms what applies to your skin at consultation.
Ask a physician- What it is
- Micro-injections of hydrating or regenerative ingredients into the dermis — a skin-quality treatment, not a filler.
- Best for
- Dehydrated, dull or rough skin, fine dryness lines and a lack of natural glow.
- How it works
- Hyaluronic acid binds water in the dermis; other boosters (such as PN or PDLLA) support repair or collagen.
- Skin layer treated
- Upper to mid dermis — the layers that hold moisture and govern surface quality.
- Treatment time
- About 20–30 minutes, plus numbing cream beforehand.
- Downtime
- Small bumps for several hours; mild redness or pinpoint bruising for a day or two.
- Results
- A hydrated, fresher look often within days, improving over the course.
- Typical course
- Usually 2–3 sessions, 3–4 weeks apart, then maintenance as advised.
How do skin boosters work?
"Skin booster" is an umbrella term. The classic booster uses non-crosslinked or lightly crosslinked hyaluronic acid, placed in tiny amounts across the face so moisture is held where the skin needs it. The effect is a smoother, more supple surface and a soft, healthy glow.
Other injectables are often grouped under the same name. Rejuran (polynucleotides) focuses on repair, while Juvelook (PDLLA with hyaluronic acid) encourages collagen. Your physician matches the ingredient to what your skin is actually lacking.
Within our Skin Architecture approach, boosters work in the upper and mid dermis. Volume loss or sagging sits deeper and is addressed with different treatments.
Which skin booster is right for me?
If dryness and dullness are the main concern, a hyaluronic acid booster is usually the starting point. If skin is thin, sensitised or slow to recover, a PN booster such as Rejuran may suit better. If texture, pores or fine lines dominate, a collagen-stimulating option like Juvelook may be suggested.
Mark-Vu imaging maps moisture, pores, pigment and wrinkle patterns, so the recommendation is based on what your skin shows on the day.
What happens on the day?
A physician sees you first. After imaging and consultation, numbing cream is applied, then the booster is placed with fine injections or an injector device across the treatment area.
- Physician consultation and Mark-Vu imaging
- Numbing cream (around 30 minutes)
- Booster injections across the face (20–30 minutes)
- Soothing care and English aftercare notes
- Session saved in your Skin Library
Recovery, aftercare and travel plans
Small raised bumps usually settle within hours, and any pinpoint bruising fades over a few days. Most people return to their plans straight away, with make-up from the next day.
Skip saunas, hot baths, intense exercise and alcohol for a day or two. If you are visiting Seoul — perhaps staying near Myeongdong or Insadong — booking 2–3 days before a flight or event gives a comfortable margin.
Boosters are not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding, with active skin infection, or with known allergy to an ingredient. Your physician will confirm suitability.

Skin Booster — asked & answered.
General information only. Your physician will advise on what is right for your skin.
Ask your own questionHow long do skin booster results last?
Typically several months after a full course, depending on the product and your skin. Many people keep results with a maintenance session every few months.
Is a skin booster the same as a filler?
No — boosters are spread thinly through the dermis to improve skin quality and do not change facial shape. Fillers are placed in specific areas to add volume or contour.
Does it hurt?
There is some stinging from the fine injections. Numbing cream is applied for about 30 minutes beforehand, and most people find it very manageable.
Can I have a skin booster before a flight home?
Yes — the treatment itself is not affected by flying. Leaving 2–3 days before your flight lets bumps and any small bruises settle.
Can I combine a booster with laser or lifting?
Often, yes. Boosters are commonly paired with lifting or laser, and your physician will plan the order so each treatment works well.
How do I book, and how close are you to Myeongdong?
