Thermage is a non-surgical skin-tightening treatment that uses monopolar radiofrequency to heat the dermis evenly while the surface is cooled. It suits loosening, crepey or less elastic skin on the face, around the eyes and on the neck. At Obliv Seoul Origin in Jongno, central Seoul, it is performed on the current Thermage FLX system.

How does Thermage work?
Thermage passes monopolar radiofrequency through a treatment tip placed on the skin. The energy warms a broad volume of dermis, while the tip cools and protects the surface.
Heat causes existing collagen to contract — which is why some tightening can be felt straight away — and triggers the gradual production of new collagen over the following months. The result is firmer, smoother skin rather than a structural lift.
In our Skin Architecture approach, Thermage addresses the full and lower dermis. For sagging that comes from the deeper SMAS layer, your physician may pair it with focused ultrasound such as Ultherapy Prime.
Thermage, Thermage FLX or Thermage Eye — what's the difference?
Thermage is the brand name for Solta Medical's monopolar RF tightening. Thermage FLX is the current generation of the system, with AccuREP technology that tunes energy delivery to each area. Thermage Eye is the same technology applied with a small eye tip to the eyelids and eye area.
At our clinic, Thermage treatments are carried out on the FLX system. You can have the face, eyes and neck in one visit or focus on a single area.

What happens on the day?
After a physician consultation and Mark-Vu imaging, a temporary grid is marked on the skin to guide even coverage, and numbing cream is applied. The physician then places the tip in passes across each area, with each pulse delivering a short burst of heat followed by cooling.

Recovery, aftercare and travel plans
Most people leave with mild redness that settles within hours. Make-up can usually be applied the next day, and normal activities resume straight away.
Because downtime is minimal, Thermage is a popular choice for visitors to Seoul. The clinic is in Jongno, a few minutes' walk from Myeongdong, Insadong and Euljiro, and open every day.
Thermage is not suitable during pregnancy, with a pacemaker or implanted electronic device, or over active infection. Tell your physician about any metal implants or fillers in the area.

Does Thermage hurt?
You will feel brief pulses of deep heat followed by cooling. Numbing cream is applied first, and the physician adjusts energy based on your feedback.

Some tightening may be visible straight away. The main improvement develops over 1–3 months, with the final result around 3–6 months.
Can I fly after Thermage?
Yes — there are no restrictions on flying. Any redness usually fades within hours, so treatment shortly before departure is generally fine.
