Ultherapy Prime is the newer-generation Ultherapy platform from Merz Aesthetics. It uses the same micro-focused ultrasound principle — heating precise points down to the SMAS layer under real-time imaging — on an updated system with enhanced visualisation. At Obliv Seoul Origin in Jongno, central Seoul, it is used for non-surgical lifting of the face and neck.

What is Ultherapy Prime?
Ultherapy Prime is Merz Aesthetics' current Ultherapy platform. Like the original system, it focuses ultrasound energy into points beneath the skin, while an ultrasound image on screen lets the physician see the layers being treated.
The changes are mainly in the platform itself — an updated system with enhanced imaging and redesigned hardware. It is best thought of as a refinement of a well-established treatment rather than a different procedure.
In our Skin Architecture approach, Ultherapy Prime is used for the SMAS fascia and lower dermis — the structural layers behind sagging. It is the system on which Ultherapy is delivered at our clinic.
Ultherapy Prime vs the original Ultherapy — what's the difference?
The energy type, focal depths and expected results are essentially the same. What differs is the equipment: Prime is a newer system designed to give clearer visualisation and a more efficient workflow for the practitioner.
Clearer imaging helps the physician confirm depth and placement section by section. It does not mean results are guaranteed to be stronger — outcome still depends mostly on your anatomy, skin quality and the treatment plan.
What happens on the day?
You meet a physician first for consultation and Mark-Vu imaging. The face and neck are mapped, comfort measures are discussed, and the treatment is carried out area by area with the ultrasound image checked before each line.

Recovery, aftercare and travel plans
Most people resume normal activities straight away. Expect mild redness or swelling for a few hours; tenderness along the jaw, small bruises or temporary numb spots can occasionally last a few days.
With minimal downtime, Ultherapy Prime fits well into a short stay in Seoul. The clinic is in Jongno, a short walk from Myeongdong and Insadong, and open seven days a week.
Not suitable during pregnancy, over open wounds or active skin infection, or in some cases with implants in the treatment area. Your physician will confirm suitability.

It is a newer platform with enhanced imaging and updated hardware, but the treatment principle and depths are the same. Your physician's plan matters more than the generation of the device.
How many sessions do I need?
Usually one. Collagen remodels over several months, and many people repeat it around once a year for maintenance.
Does it hurt?
The deeper pulses can feel hot and prickly, particularly over bone. Numbing and comfort measures are available, and the physician can adapt settings as you go.
Can I fly after Ultherapy Prime?
Yes — there are no flight restrictions. Redness or swelling is usually mild, so treating a day or two before you fly home is generally fine.
Can it be combined with Thermage or skin boosters?
Often, yes. Ultrasound for deep lift and RF or boosters for skin quality are a common pairing; your physician will advise the order and spacing.
Can I book on a weekend?
Yes — we are open Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 to 19:00. Same-day treatment depends on availability and physician assessment, so it is best to send your dates on WhatsApp in advance.
