XERF is a Korean-developed monopolar radiofrequency device that can deliver energy at more than one frequency, allowing heating at different depths of the dermis and subcutaneous layer. How does XERF work?
Like other monopolar RF devices, XERF passes radiofrequency energy through the skin to warm the dermis, encouraging collagen to contract and then remodel over time.
Its main distinguishing feature is the ability to use more than one frequency . Different frequencies heat tissue at different depths, so the physician can adjust treatment between more superficial and deeper layers within the same session.

XERF vs Thermage — how do they compare?
Both are monopolar RF tightening devices that warm the dermis with surface cooling. Thermage FLX is the long-established system with AccuREP energy tuning; XERF is a newer Korean device built around multiple frequencies.
Published research on XERF is more limited than on Thermage, so we keep expectations measured. Your physician will explain which device fits your skin, goals and timing rather than recommending one by default.
What happens on the day?
After a physician consultation and Mark-Vu imaging, numbing cream is applied and the physician treats the planned areas in passes, adjusting frequency and energy as needed.

Recovery, aftercare and travel plans
Mild redness and warmth usually settle within hours. Occasional swelling or tenderness can last a day or so; most people return to normal plans immediately.
With little downtime, XERF can be planned around a short stay in Seoul. The clinic is in Jongno, near Insadong and Myeongdong, and open every day of the week.
Not suitable during pregnancy, with a pacemaker or implanted electronic device, metal implants in the area, or active skin infection. Your physician will review your history first.
