What type of acne scars do I have?
Acne scars are not one thing. Rolling scars are broad, soft depressions caused by bands tethering the skin down; boxcar scars have sharp edges; icepick scars are narrow and deep. Most people have a mix.
Your physician examines your skin under angled light and with Mark-Vu imaging to classify each scar type , because each responds to a different tool.
In our Skin Architecture approach, scars are read by depth. Shallow texture is surface-level; tethered rolling scars reach deeper into the dermis and may need more than laser alone.
How are acne scars treated?
Most plans combine methods across a course. Your physician will explain which suits each area of your face.

- Subcision: where appropriate, a physician may release tethered rolling scars with a fine needle

You meet a physician first. Numbing cream is applied for 30–40 minutes, then the chosen device is used across the scarred areas, often with extra passes on deeper scars.

Recovery, realistic results and travel
Expect redness and swelling after either option, with fine crusting after fractional CO2 that usually clears within a week. Keep skin moisturised, avoid make-up for a day or two (longer after CO2), and do not pick at crusts.
Scars usually improve by a meaningful degree over a course rather than disappearing. Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation is a particular risk in darker skin types, so settings are conservative and strict sun protection is needed. If you are visiting Seoul, plan the first session early in your stay and discuss follow-up timing with your physician.
Acne scar laser is usually postponed during pregnancy, with active acne breakouts or infection in the area, after recent tanning, within several months of isotretinoin, or with a tendency to keloid scarring. Your physician will check this at consultation.

How many sessions will I need?

Does acne scar laser hurt?
Numbing cream is applied first. Most people feel heat and prickling that is manageable, with warmth lasting a few hours afterwards.
Can I fly after acne scar treatment?
Yes, but allow time to heal: about 2–3 days after Potenza and about a week after fractional CO2. Plan treatment early in your trip if you can.
Can I have treatment if I still get breakouts?
Active acne is usually calmed first. Potenza may be suitable for acne-prone skin, but your physician will decide based on how inflamed the skin is.
