Why does a skin clinic offer foot care?

The skin of the feet is still skin. It thickens under pressure, cracks when it dries, and reacts to footwear, heat and friction in ways that respond to careful medical attention rather than harsh home remedies.

Our foot care is deliberately simple and conservative: a physician looks first, treats what is in front of them, and says plainly when something needs a different specialist.

What happens at a foot-care appointment?

Your physician will ask what is bothering you, how long it has been there, what shoes you usually wear and whether you have any health conditions such as diabetes or circulation problems. They then examine the skin and nails.

Care is tailored to what they find. Most appointments are straightforward and you walk out in your own shoes.

  • Paring or debridement of calluses and corns
  • Reducing thick, hard-to-cut toenails
  • Care of painful ingrown nail edges, including partial nail removal when the physician considers it appropriate
  • Moisturising and barrier care for dry or cracked heels
  • Assessment of possible fungal infection, with treatment or referral
  • Advice on footwear, socks and home care

Who should seek medical care first?

If you have diabetes, poor circulation, numbness in your feet, spreading redness, fever, or a wound that is not healing, please seek prompt medical care rather than waiting for a routine appointment — these can be signs of something that needs urgent attention.

If any of these apply and you still wish to book with us, tell the concierge when you make the booking so the physician can prepare and advise whether another service is more suitable.

Can I fit foot care into a trip to Seoul?

Seoul is a city best seen on foot, and long days walking palace grounds, markets and the Cheonggyecheon path — often in new shoes — are a common reason visitors notice a blister, corn or painful nail edge. Long-haul flights can also leave heels drier than usual.

Appointments can usually fit within a day's plans. The clinic is in Jongno, a short walk from Insadong and Myeongdong, open seven days a week, with English-speaking staff and booking on WhatsApp. Same-day appointments depend on availability and physician assessment.

Bring the shoes you walk in most — they often explain more than the foot does.

VI — Questions

Foot Care — asked & answered.

General information only. Your physician will advise on what is right for your skin.

Ask your own question
Is foot care done by a doctor?

Yes. A physician assesses your feet first and decides what care is appropriate, and the same physician-led approach applies as for all treatments at the clinic.

Does callus or corn removal hurt?

Usually not. Paring removes thickened, non-living skin and most people feel only pressure; tell the physician at once if anything is uncomfortable.

Can you cure a fungal nail?

We cannot promise a cure. Where fungal infection is suspected, the physician will assess it and suggest treatment or referral; nail infections often take months to clear even with treatment.

I have diabetes — can I book?

Please tell us when you book, and seek prompt medical care for any wound, numbness, redness or fever. The physician will advise whether our service is appropriate or another specialist is better placed.

Can I walk around Seoul straight afterwards?

Usually, yes. Most care involves no recovery time; after ingrown-nail treatment your physician will explain dressing care and how long to keep the toe protected.

How do I book a foot-care appointment?

Message our international concierge on WhatsApp in English with a short description of the problem and your dates in Seoul.
